PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Sven Mueller-Grune is Professor for Public Commercial Law at the Schmalkalden Technical College (Hochschule Schmalkalden). He serves as Of Counsel for the law firm in particular for the fields of administrative and contract law. Between 2001 and 2014 Professor Mueller-Grune used to work as a licensed attorney and has extensive expertise in Civil and Administrative Law litigation before German Civil and Administrative Courts. As lawyer, he advised clients from the automotive industry in particular in contract law. Professor Mueller-Grune is a licensed mediator, educated at the Fernuniversität Hagen, and has many years of experience in Industry-Mediation.

Professor Dr. Müller-Grune also serves as Board Member of the Institute for European Union Studies (IEUSS) at the New York State University (Buffalo State).

EDUCATION

Professor Mueller-Grune studied law at the Friedrich-Schiller University School of Law at Jena and at the Universidad de Granada in Spain. After taking his First State Exam he worked as research assistant for a Public Law chair at the University of Nuremberg-Erlangen and clerked for the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg. He took his Second State Exam at the state of Bavaria and received his Ph.D. jur. from Bonn university for the dissertation: “The principle of good faith in General Administrative Law”.
